So I sent an email to my pastor telling him that I am in the process of deciding whether or not this church and I are a "fit". I haven't been there in three weeks, and I'm all about communicating honestly....I know he's noticed my absence....and I felt that he was owed an explanation. It's only right.
That went well. His reaction to that was great.
Anyway, he asked if we can get together and talk, but right now I just don't see the need for it...we've talked a few times before, and it's pretty clear to me that we are just not really on the same page.
It's an okay church. There's no evangelism. There's no talk about what's happening in these last days (it's ignored), and so there is no biblical standard for living as a follower of Jesus Christ in what will be (is already) becoming a more and more unfriendly world to people who do.
The church is falling short...people are perishing from lack of knowledge....I haven't seen or heard much concern over that.
What more is there to talk about? I just need to make a decision. More than that...I need to do what I already know I have to do.
